A big part of what I do with Reiki is helping people feel ease from physical, mental and emotional stress symptoms brought on by work or a life change. Articles in Forbes, Fast Company and Entrepreneur caught my attention recently. The idea of ‘balance’ or ‘work-life balance’ has run the course. I’ve been seeing more use of the word “harmony” lately and ‘leaning in’ when describing how to “surf” (my favorite word) life’s stressors. It is easy to find information online regarding stress – with a quick search I found this – and how to co-exist with it healthfully. The tough part of course, is to prioritize our time to actually do the activities that resonate for us. I certainly don’t have the magic answer as to how to accomplish this. However, I will say this: not often enough do I see Reiki suggested as part of a stress management practice.

- Anxious or worry thoughts subside
- Deep relaxation of the physical body
- A lift in overall mood
- Mental clarity
- Situations or people causing agitation falls away
- Ability to see from another’s perspective/more empathy
